Thread, one of the UK's leading online stylists and retailers, with operations across Europe and the US, is expanding its use of 7bridges' AI powered logistics platform to increase the size of their national carrier network.
Thread have been partnered with 7bridges since 2019, using the platform to expand into the US market at the end of 2019. Thanks to the speed of integration and flexibility of the 7bridges solution, this was done in just one month, opening up an entirely new market for the business, while enabling 50-60% in logistics cost reduction in the US market.
Turning their eye back to home, Thread recognised the need to increase resilience for its UK deliveries, and is expanding its use of the 7bridges solution to create the flexibility it needs. Over-dependence on one or two key suppliers is a critical issue within the logistics space, and with 7bridges, Thread aims to negate fragility by being able to quickly expand its carrier network. This will enable the business to better handle peaks in demand and ensure customer deliveries and expectations aren’t disrupted.
"The past two years working with 7bridges have enabled us to do some fantastic things internationally, like spinning up our US operations in only a month.” Said Ben Laird, Head of Operations at Thread. "We’re now aiming to bring more of that logistics intelligence and automation to bear on the rest of our network, beginning with this move to improve the resilience of our delivery operations in the UK with the expansion of our carrier network."
Philip Ashton, CEO at 7bridges added "Thread have been an incredibly important partner for us and have really embraced the vision that 7bridges has for a more intelligent, automated logistics space. We’re incredibly pleased that they’ve chosen to continue working with us to improve their resilience, and we look forward to delivering some truly impressive results for them when this new part of their solution goes live."

7bridges was co-founded in 2016 by Philip Ashton and Matei Beremski. Through their work in logistics and machine learning, they saw an opportunity to use technology and big data to reverse the systemic waste of money and resources they observed throughout global supply chains. The 7bridges vision is a world where supply chains are flexible, adaptable and sustainable. Today, the 7bridges platform is used by some of the world's top retail, pharmaceutical, manufacturing and distribution brands to orchestrate and execute operations across their supply chains.
